About

Nora Daidone

Thanks to my nomadic childhood, I was immersed in wildly different cultures which instilled in me a love for languages and words. As a young child,I was interested in culture and art in general and quickly developed a passion for everything related to writing.

I would while away hours browsing a stationery store and creating my own pigments which I would then use to write reams purely for the pleasure of the smell of the ink and the sound of the nib scratching across the paper. With a fascination for quality materials, different textures, the beauty of signs and a love for detail, I decided to turn this passion into my profession.

I studied Latin calligraphy in Paris with Claude Mediavilla ( world renowned calligrapher, typographer, paleographer and epigrapher ), and Bernard Arin (former director of the Scriptorium de Toulouse ).
I then perfected my skills at Villa Thiole, the oldest Art School in Nice. I decided to create the Nice Plume studio in 2009.
